How It Began:

The DFL was started by 4 die hard football fans several years ago as a simple video game tournament between friends. Beginning in a living room in Buffalo NY, the original members would wager one dollar each on every game played within their customized 8 week schedule. Over the years, the DFL evolved to several friends each playing for the chance to win over 200 dollars in the final game dubbed "The Dawg Bowl."

After so many people began wanting to join, separate leagues were needed, and the founders started longing to play their league against other leagues. And then came the element of fantasy...

As avid fantasy football players, the DFL founders illuminated a collective light bulb over their football loving minds. They quickly realized that so many people love playing video game football, as well as fantasy football, and the need to combine them became unavoidable. The DFL became so popular and so fun- so quickly, that to deny the rest of the world of the option to join, only felt wrong. And so, the way to play your fantasy team was born.

How to play:

On your favorite touchscreen device, simply download the DFL app and join the fun! The DFL is played like any other touchscreen game. You control the players from their POV and execute your plays with the swipe of your finger. You will also choose your plays from your playbook, design your own plays, and create your own playbooks from the POV of the coach. Simple swipes and taps will set hot routes, blocks, and QB options such as rollouts and play action. The longer you pull back the QB's arm, the faster the throw. A small drag creates a much softer, higher toss. All plays on offense are carried out from the POV of the ball carrier (QB, RB, WR, TE, etc.). On defense, your view is from above the line until you tap into a specific defender. Once tapped in, you control the player from his POV.

Once you have your team customized and ready to compete, simply join a fantasy league via friends, or send out friend requests. Start your own league or play your current league. If you are not into fantasy football, there is still an option for you! For those who simply want to play their favorite NFL team, simply join the NFL option and select your team. You will be routed to a league that needs your selected team to be completed. Each NFL league consists of 32 people, each playing their favorite team. If you know 31 people that each like a different team in the NFL, you can create your own league together. Of course, you can create your own league regardless, but you might be waiting a while for others to join.

Note: The DFL generates your team's division and schedule. You set the game days and kickoff times in compliance with your league members.

Play for Pay: Cash League vs Kicks League:

Enter your PayPal information and begin playing for the chance to win big bucks! The DFL itself is free to join, and if you wish not to wager money, you can by selecting the "Play For Kicks" option. This option allows you to choose from a list of leagues that are simply playing for fun, or start your own "Kicks League." If you wish to win money, simply select the "Play For Pay" option, and join or create your "Cash League." For those who play in the Cash Leagues, this is how it works:

Once you are part of a Cash League, you will communicate with the other members of your league via your team's Newsfeed, much like a social networking site. There you will need to discuss the amount of money each of you is willing to wager per game. The minimum amount is one dollar but there is no maximum. However, each member MUST wager the same amount. Keep in mind that the agreed amount is deducted from your PayPal account each time you start a game. There is the regular 16 game season, so the minimum amount is 16 dollars each. Although, when considering the amount your league wishes to wager, keep in mind that the amount doubles for each playoff game, and triples for the two teams that make it to the Dawg Bowl. This is a winner take all game, and the winner of the Dawg Bowl gets all the cash! The following is an example of what to expect using the minimum wager in the minimum four man league:

16 games at one dollar each x four members=64 dollars accumilated during regular season.

11 playoff games at two dollars per team=44 dollars accumilated during post season for a total of 108 dollars.

1 Dawg Bowl game at three dollars each=6 dollars accumilated during final game for a total of 114 dollars for the winner!

Wager two dollars per regular season games and the accumilation looks like this: 128 dollars (season) + 88 dollars (post-season) + 12 dollars (Dawg Bowl)=228 dollars for the winner!

Yes! It adds up fast, so consider this rate of increase when deciding your wagers. A 5 dollar wager per regular game in a four-member league might not seem like much, but by the time you get to the Dawg Bowl, you would have invested approximately 140 dollars (your playoff investments depend on your standings and participation in wildcard games), and you would be playing for 570 dollars!

The DFL Today:

Currently, the DFL is looking for some additional funds to make this private league a worldwide reality. The DFL is copywritten and pattented, but the game is in the stages of development. If you would like to help make this game available sooner than later, please donate any amount by going to http://gogetfunding.com/project/dfl and pledge your support. There will also be limited room for investors who see the potential in this multi-million dollar game. If you would like to invest or secure a spot for investment, just send an email to willcifer37@yahoo.com or contact the DFL here, or at www.gogetfunding.com.

The DFL is owned by T.J. Mullane, Will Thomas, Justin Matthews, and Charles Aquilina. The four founders listed retain all rights to The DFL, and they are currently working together on launching this project. Please don't be discouraged by the lack of functioning links at this point, since they will be active as soon as the funds needed are reached, and the game is ready to be played. This website is the property of The DFL Founders Association, and much more is soon to come!

As of right now, some of the tabs on this website are pointless. This site is still being constructed, and it is currently in operation solely for donations, and for investors to view in order to gain insight into the DFL. There are more videos in the making, and all of these sections will be filled and available to navigate once the DFL is officially launched. This website is currently for anyone who wishes to inquire about what it is that the DFL is doing, and to help the founders finish making this game. The DFL is the future of fantasy football, and when it comes to your fantasy team(s), the DFL is the difference between success and failure!
